Missing Professor Geronimus? Here’s an update (he will be back in January)!

4 Dec

Professor Geronimus has been spending the fall term in the land of Wilde, Tolkien, and C.S. Lewis. As a visiting scholar in the Department of Art History at the University of Oxford, he continues to work on his book devoted to Jacopo da Pontormo. He has also delivered three public lectures during his stay, both in Oxford and in Haarlem (the latter in conjunction with the first-ever Leonardo da Vinci exhibition in the Netherlands, Leonardo da Vinci: The Language of Faces at the Teylers Museum). The most recent talk — “Into the Wild: Living Landscape and Wonderment in Renaissance Art” (Macintyre Society lecture, Nov. 30) — was hosted at his old graduate home, Magdalen College, Oxford.
