Please join us in congratulating Shelley Rice on being selected as a recipient of the 2014-2015 David Payne-Carter Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Tisch School of the Arts.

The David Payne-Carter Award was inaugurated in 1992 with an endowment from Bob Littell in honor of David Payne-Carter, a former faculty member of Undergraduate Drama. It is an annual award with the recipient announced in the spring. Mr. Littell emphasized that the award express the views of the student body in recognizing superior capabilities in the classroom. A student committee was formed in each department and charged with soliciting nominations from the students of their department. Each committee then forwarded a single candidate to the Office of the Dean. To be nominated is to be acknowledged by your students as an outstanding teacher.

We, in the DAH, are thrilled to share Shelley with the Department of Photography and Imaging and could not agree more that she deserves this award!
