A new location and a new partner for Rawson Projects, DAH Alumnus Chris Rawson’s gallery

Rawson Projects is very excited to announce our new location in the Lower East Side at 221 Madison Street and to welcome Jessamyn Fiore as a Partner at the gallery.

The inaugural exhibition will be a solo show of new work by painter Halsey Hathaway, which will open on Sunday, September 21st from 6 to 9 pm and will continue through October 26th.

Jessamyn Fiore is a New York-based curator and writer, and the co-director of the Estate of Gordon Matta-Clark. She was the Director of Thisisnotashop, a not-for-profit gallery space in Dublin, from 2007-2010. In 2007 she co-founded The Writing Workshop, a collaborative forum for writers and artists. Exhibitions curated include 112 Greene Street: The Early Years (1970–1974) at David Zwirner in New York (2011), which led to her editing the critically acclaimed catalogue of the same name (David Zwirner and Radius Books, 2012); a second exhibition at David Zwirner in New York, Gordon Matta-Clark: Above and Below (2013); two solo exhibitions by Clive Murphy at Kling & Bang Galleri in Reykjavik, Iceland (2013) and Magnan Metz Gallery, New York (2014). At Rawson Projects she curated The Balloon, a group exhibition inspired by Donald Barthelme’s short story “The Balloon” including the work of six artists from New York, Iceland, and Ireland (2014). Her one-act play Blast from The Past, based on the writings of Robert Smithson and Gordon Matta-Clark, was recently published by the Bureau for Open Culture.

She holds a masters degree in contemporary art theory, practice, and philosophy from The National College of Art and Design, Dublin.
