Professor Mosette Broderick and Adjunct Professor Sam White to appear in a public television special on architect Stanford White, to air January 2nd and January 6th

Professor Mosette Broderick, Director of NYU’s undergraduate Urban Design and Architecture Studies Program, M.A. in Historical and Sustainable Architecture, and Urban Design in London Summer Program, and Samuel G. White, a Principal in the New York architectural firm of Platt Byard Dovell White and Adjunct Faculty in the Urban Design and Architecture Studies Program, contributed to and will appear in the upcoming public television special, Treasures of New York: Stanford White.  The program examines the life and career of renowned Gilded Age architect Stanford White, a founding partner of the influential America architectural firm McKim, Mead & White, and the designer of the original Madison Square Garden, NYU’s former University Heights campus (now Bronx Community College), including the magnificent Gould Memorial Library, The Century Association, The Metropolitan Club, the Pulitzer Mansion (73rdStreet), and the Washington Square Arch, among other iconic New York buildings and landmarks.  Treasures of New York: Stanford White will air on two New York-area public television stations:  WLIW Channel 21 on Thursday, January 2nd at 10:00 PM; and WNET Channel 13 on Monday, January 6th, also at 10:00 PM.  The program will be available for streaming after its January 2nd broadcast.

The program features interviews with both Professor Broderick, author of the acclaimed Triumvirate: McKim, Mead & White: Art, Architecture, Scandal and Class in America’s Gilded Age(Alfred A. Knopf, 2010) and Professor White, a great-grandson of Stanford White, among other experts.
